I started working from home in a new job in July which allowed me more recreational riding so I was still putting about 15 miles a day on it until September. The chainguard bracket is pretty flimsy tho and easily pushed in if you lean the right side of the bike against anything that will press on the partial chain guard. I've ridden the PUBLIC C7I, and it is a smooth performer!

I have another friend who has a C7i that made me want to get a PUBLIC in the first place and she has never had any major issue with it at all. I have the C7i and am thinking of getting a new bike. I love the looks of the public bike and have considered getting matching red ones for me and my SO. I put panniers on the back rack and take it to the local farmer's market. Being on the size fence, I decided to ride the larger of the two sizes, and loved it. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. If you don't ride every day or are not a heavy user, the PUBLIC is still a great ride. I'm CONSTANTLY having to true my wheels, it drives me crazy. However, usually, when I buy a bike (especially if it's cheap), I ride it around until bits start falling off.

We want to offer a low price starting point option for people who are just getting back into biking again, aren't sure how much they'll really ride it, plan to use it more for casual weekend riding, or don't want to commit to a higher priced bike with more bells and whistles. Disabling it will result in some disabled or missing features. The rim type will be listed in the specs listed online for all our models. I have the cream one with red and it is a presence in and unto itself! On sale now! My use of it has varied. That seems too soon but a new KMC chain only cost $8 so whatever. Apologies in particular about the trouble you've had with the wheels, the V7 and C7 have single-wall rims which are less robust than double-wall rims, but even then I'm surprised they're giving you as much trouble as you've had. I'm not going to sell it when I do get a replacement though because 1. Read honest and unbiased product reviews from our users. As another commenter mentioned, almost all production bikes come with machine built wheels, and when we build our bikes for PUBLIC stores or Ready to Ride shipping our mechanics will hand tension and true the wheels to make sure they're in the best possible shape starting out. If the brake isn't totally secure, you get movement that will either displace the fender and cause rim rubbing or cause brakes to go out of alignment and cause rim rubbing. Believe me, it's really tough to make the decisions about which parts to spec to offer the best possible quality, aesthetic, and owner experience while hitting our target price points! I have to say though that I'm in the market for a new bike this year.

PUBLIC did send me a replacement cream colored tire but used slowest ground shipping possible so I didn't get it for 2 weeks.
